There was a lot going on again today.
At 6:30 a.m. we picked up five children from the House of Happiness and drove to the hospital. The twins Vaileth and Farajah were vaccinated and Sophia, Benaya and Veruni had to be examined. They had everything from iron deficiency to anemia and infections, but luckily no serious illnesses. Sophie was so brave! She sat there quietly and, unlike the other children, didn't cry during the blood test.
At 12:00 I went to the children at school. Since the President of Tanzania is coming to Arusha soon, all politicians are very busy. Mr. Dennis, the highest official of the social services, was also there. There were speeches (I was once again very well prepared, as I was not expecting it at all) and finally the House of Happiness even received an award. The reason for this was a private donation for tables, chairs and the construction of 12 toilets in the school - previously there were only 4 toilets for 640 children ...
At the end I was given a Maasai blanket with the following embroidery: “Welcome to Loovilukuny”. I was extremely pleased with this gesture.
