Our team gets along incredibly well. Even though the men could actually go home during their lunch break, they often stay together in the kitchen and play a round of chess. It's wonderful to see how friendly and easygoing the team is with each other.

If they see that there are still clothes to be washed, they're happy to help their moms. And of course, the children are always there too. We all pitch in together – and sometimes the work even turns into a little shared experience. 😊
Playing before dinner 🎲
Before dinner, there are always different activities for the children. Recently, it was time for games again: boys against girls!
The players gave it their all, cheering and of course, debating. I always have to get used to the noise level again after I arrive… 😂
But it is precisely this energy and zest for life of the children that makes our home.
The first corn harvest 🌽
We also have good news regarding our corn: Our first harvest was successful! The corn cobs are now ready to be milled.
Maize porridge, better known to us as ugali , is an important part of Tanzanian cuisine – and our children love it. So it's all the more wonderful that we were now able to grow and harvest some of it ourselves.
For us, this first corn harvest is a small but important step. It shows that our work in this area is also worthwhile and that we can increasingly provide our children with our own produce.
