We also use our stay to have important discussions. For example, we were pleased to welcome a representative from the social services office to our House of Happiness. Together, we discussed the developments of recent years and took a tour of our home. It's valuable to be able to reflect on such progress together.

Challenges posed by weather and construction

The weather conditions and building design here are completely different from ours. After just four years, some of our buildings have already been subjected to considerable wear and tear. We are currently working on repairs and finding new solutions to better withstand the large volumes of water during the rainy season. We sincerely hope that these modifications will prove successful.

Next step: our Transition House

Another important point was the meeting with the construction manager. Together we finalized the plans for our Transition House and have now also determined the exact location.

Time flies: In just under two years, one of our girls will already be 18 years old. That makes it all the more important that we start construction soon, so that we can offer a suitable follow-up solution in time.
