Today it's time to say goodbye again – my time here in Arusha was short but intense. Professional commitments call me back to Namibia.
A special highlight was the birthday party for our April children. We celebrated with beaming faces, cake crumbs, and lots of laughter. Moments like these demonstrate once again how valuable community is—and how important it is to honor each individual stage of life.
A lot has happened behind the scenes, too: Our social worker Ummul's office has been refreshed – a simple measure with a big impact. The room used to have a strong echo, which often made conversations with authorities difficult. Now it's not only more functional but also more inviting – a place where you feel taken seriously.
Another important visit was also on the agenda: a meeting with the highest representative of the local social services department. The exchange was open and constructive – such meetings are crucial for making our concerns understood and promoting long-term cooperation.
And construction is underway! The chicken coop is growing day by day – a small but significant step toward self-sufficiency. If all goes according to plan, we'll be able to welcome our first chickens in July. The thought of soon having fresh eggs straight from the garden is simply wonderful!
A new delivery of firewood for our outdoor kitchen has also arrived.
