31.01.26 – A look back at the last few days before departure 💛

Looking back now, it seems as if my time there went by far too quickly. The last few days with the children were intense, touching, and full of little moments that will stay with me.
On one of the last days, I was allowed to accompany the children to school. Before we left, they stood neatly in a single line and had their hair carefully combed 🙃. After a short prayer, we set off together. The shoes were sparkling clean – and at first, every speck of dust was immediately removed along the way. After a few meters, this ambition was eventually abandoned 😂. Incidentally, the school day doesn't begin in the classroom: first, there's weeding and cleaning. That's why it's important to arrive early – helping out and taking responsibility are simply part of the experience.
Further training and new support
During my stay, the social services office held a training course for our employees. It's important that rules and procedures are discussed regularly – ultimately everyone benefits from this.
It is particularly valuable that the child psychologist now visits regularly. We sincerely hope that this ongoing support will help the children process their past step by step and provide them with additional stability.
Small gifts, big meaning ⌚
As a farewell gift, we gave out children's watches. The joy was immense: each one was received with great pride. The idea of going to church with their own wristwatch was especially lovely – whether they could already tell the time or not didn't matter at all 😉
Even now, back in Switzerland, I feel very close to the children. The memories of those days sustain me – and give me strength for everything that lies ahead.
A heartfelt thank you 💛
None of this would be possible without you. Your support gives our children structure, security, and hope. Asante sana – thank you so much for your loyalty and trust in our work. 🙏
